Expo 2025 Osaka: Alfons Mucha
Mucha’s first series of decorative panels, The Seasons, released in Paris in 1896. These were posters without text, intended purely for artistic use or for decorating interior walls. The set of four panels depicts the seasons as ethereal nymphs, with appearances and moods capturing the essence of each season.
A special edition commemorates Czechia‘s participation at EXPO 2025, held on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka, Japan, from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
Botanical Garden in Brno
The Mendel University Botanical Garden is renowned for its orchid collection, boasting around 2,000 native species and over 3,500 cultivated varieties, making it one of the largest and most significant collections in Europe. In selecting specific plants for the sheet, the designer had a clear aim from the outset – to showcase various cultivars, shapes, and colours of native orchid species.
Coinage launch – gold florin and Prague groschen
The stamps depict both sides of the coins, with Latin inscriptions referencing the text from the respective coins. Bold typography lends the stamps a fitting sense of dignity and majesty. The coins weave between the letters, creating an airy and elegant effect. The designer of the issue drew inspiration from artifacts associated with Václav II – specifically, the Prague groschen and John of Luxembourg’s florin.
